Imation's RDX Removable Hard Disk Storage System
The concept of replacing tape backup with high-performance random access technology has existed since the advent of disk drives. Yet until now, nothing has been able to match tape backup in its removability, high capacity or affordability. Now the RDX Storage System combines the benefits of removable cartridge technology with the advantages of disk into an intelligent, affordable solution.
The Imation RDX Storage System uses a rugged, reliable removable disk cartridge and docking station that backs up just like a tape drive. Yet its speed makes it a smart replacement to DDS/DAT, VXA and DLT performance tapes. It is able to back up to 150GB of data per hour and allows near instantaneously file access. Cartridge capacities range from 160GB to 500GB and you’ll never run out of storage space. Simply add more removable cartridges as your data needs expand.
